Bango User ID is a positive integer which is issued by Bango as anonymized reference (token) to a set of user identity, user information, and credentials held securely within the Bango Platform.
It has no intrinsic value other than to act as a reference to details about that specific set of information a user within the Bango platform. The BangoUserID is only useful in conjunction with Bango functionality exposed through secure endpoints and identified merchant credentials to permit any action to use or add to the information associated with that BangoUserID.
For example to request a charge to a user’s payment method, update or remove credentials for a user, retrieve information / history about a user. A BangoUserID can be effectively "disconnected" from information by Bango if required.
A user or device may potentially have multiple BangoUserID over their lifetime. As a reference key into the Bango system, the BangoUserID is the equivalent in some payment platforms to an email address or a phone number, but with the added restriction that a BangoUserID on its own has not functionality ( you can not send a message to it for example).
The BangoUserID of a device can generally be requested using a Bango API- and can for example be seen by a user visiting bango.net/whoami
Payment on particular mobile operators can be restricted or managed based on BangoUserID - according to parameters set by their payment provider.
App Stores can be restricted to using the BangoUserID according to specific limitations such as whether they authenticated the user.
